ATELIER AZIZ ALQATAMI is an architectural office based in Kuwait City and working globally. We are dedicated to working between the fields of Architecture, Landscape and Interior design. Alqatami worked as an architect in international offices between Zurich and Kuwait before establishing ATELIER AZIZ ALQATAMI in 2009. Our office was named as one of 15 Young Arab Architects at the 2012 Venice Biennale of Architecture and at l’Institut du Monde Arabe, and participated in exhibitions at the 2016 & 2018 Venice Biennale, Gwangju Biennale, Sultan Gallery, Contemporary Art Platform Kuwait, Design District Dubai and Neuer Aachener Kunstverein Aachen.

Alqatami studied architecture at Pratt Institute School of Architecture and received his Masters in Science of Architectural Design from Columbia University. He has also been a guest critic at many institutions worldwide, including Columbia University (New York), Pratt Institute (New York) and Kuwait University. Alongside his architecture practice, Alqatami is also a founding member of the GCC art collective, exhibiting at MoMA PS1, the Sharjah Art Foundation, the Whitney Biennial, Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, Berlin Biennale, the Fridericianum in Kassel, Germany and the New Museum in New York amongst others.
